Dan Locklair: Salem Sonataas premiered in March, 2004, by Peter Sykes on the newly restored, largest extant organ built by America�s first native-trained organbuilder, David Tannenberg, at Old Salem, North Carolina. Four movements, each 2 to 3 minutes in duration; the first two are based on the hymntune Gregor�s 97th, the latter two are based on the tune Almsgiving.

Dan Locklair: The Aeolian SonataCommissioned by Duke University Chapel for a recital on 2 June 2002 celebrating the 70th anniversary of the famous 1932 Aeolian organ there, saved from destruction by members of OHS some years ago. In 3 movements, the first is based on Aus tiefer not and is marked �Dark and searching;� the second, Shalom (Peace), is marked "serene and unhurried;" and the third is on Laudate Dominum (O Praise the Lord) marked �Exuberant, with great energy.� The work pays tribute to Americans following 9/11/01.
